Young Guns blazing a trail

The ITBA are delighted to announce the dynamic newly formed steering committee for the YITBA. 

Celine McEniry was introduced to the Thoroughbred industry while working as a barn foreperson at JP McManus's, Martinstown Stud, Limerick. Shegraduated with honours from the Irish National Stud management course and furthered her career as Stud Groom at Forenaghts Stud assisting the manager in the day to day running of the Stud. In 2005 she started with Darley Flying Start, a two year International Management Trainee Programme based in Ireland, UK, USA, Australia and Dubai. Currently Celine is based at Kildangan Stud as part of the Stallion Nominations Department.   

Sinead Hyland is from Kildare and is currently working in the Nominations Department at The Irish National Stud where she has been since May 2006. Sinead has a Bachelors Degree in Science from NUI Galway and a Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis from Trinity College Dublin. Fully committed to providing and implementing dynamic, compelling solutions to the objectives of the YITBA. Sinead is an avid race goer and fan of all things equine.

Having Graduated from the Irish National Stud course as an award winner, Troy has worked in a number of areas of the thoroughbred industry including in a number of training centres and for Tote Ireland. Currently Troy divides his time working for HRI's betting division and managing the home farm as well as undertaking research projects such as assisting with the recent Dukes report for ITBA.

Gary obtained a bachelor's degree in Equine Science from Writtle College before completing the Darley Flying Start program which comprised of time in Ireland, England, Kentucky, Australia and Dubai.  Upon graduation Gary set up as an independent bloodstock consultant specializing in pedigree analysis. Gary has written numerous articles for publications such as Thoroughbred Daily News, Racingpost and Pacemaker magazine. Gary also manages the family owned Coolruss Stud who have recently bred Graded Stakes winners Cooldine, Rare Bob and Calgary Bay.

Liam Glynn is from Ballynacargy, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and is currently a 2nd year student studying Equine Business at NUI Maynooth. Liam has a keen interest in the thoroughbred industry and likes attending race meetings on a regular basis. He hopes to work within the industry when he qualifies and hopes to manage a racetrack.

Carey-Ann is a graduate of Carlow Institute of Technology with an Hon. B.A. in Public Relations and Communications Degree and a Post Graduate in Event Management with PR. Having grown up as a Bookmakers daughter in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, it was not a surprise when she ended up working in the horse racing industry. Throughout her college years Carey-Ann worked at Tramore, Killarney, Tipperary as well as some other Irish Racecourses in various PR, Marketing and Hospitality roles. Now she works all year round at many Irish Racecourses including Punchestown, Tramore, Killarney and Wexford in varying roles from Event Management, PR, Marketing, Sales and Hospitality.

Danielle Deveney works as part of the Bloodstock team at Goffs.  From Ardclough, Straffan, Co Kildare, she comes from a racing background and began working during sales in Goffs at an early age and was made full time in 2007. Danielle is passionate about all aspects of the Racing Industry and is a regular racegoer. She hopes to continue this work and further her career in the Equine industry over the coming years.

Gerry Ahern hails from Fethard and  has a degree in business marketing and works in Coolmore Stud,  where he has been part of the nomination team for the last 3 years.
Gerry Ahern has a family farm at home where they breed and board. He enjoyes racing & golf.
