ITBA National Breeding & Racing Awards 2017 Winners Revealed

ITBA National Breeding & Racing Awards 2017: Following the very successful ITBA EXPO’18 the Irish Bloodstock Industry its attention to the ITBA National Breeding & Racing Awards 2017 at The Heritage Killenard on Saturday, 27th January 2018. Just shy of 400 industry people, including Michael Creed, Minister for Agriculture attended to honour and acknowledge the outstanding achievements of Irish bred horses both Flat and National Hunt during 2017. The ITBA congratulates all award recipients but a special mention goes to John O’Connor of Ballylinch Stud who was inducted into its Hall of Fame. This year’s winners yet again demonstrate the quality and the prowess of the Irish-Bred horse on a global stage. Commenting on the awards, Stephen Collins, ITBA Chairman said “The ITBA National Breeding & Racing Awards is our opportunity to celebrate the outstanding successes of 2017- a year in which Irish thoroughbred talent was displayed to an international audience. Yet again Irish horses were to the fore winning the vast majority of all the prizes that matter. It allows our industry to pay tribute those who have made a lifelong contribution to International thoroughbred breeding, in this case our Wild Geese recipient, Gerry Dilger of Dromoland Farm, one of our own who has flown the Irish flag with pride on a global stage. “The awards ceremony was streamed live from 10.30pm to a worldwide thoroughbred audience.
